International Student Deposit

International Student Deposit

An international student who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is required to pay $5,000 USD.  An international student who is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is required to pay $7,500 USD.  Deposits need to be made to the LDS Business College Cashier's Office following notification of admission to the college.  An international student will not be able to register for classes, nor will any I-20 paperwork be initiated until the deposit is paid and all other documents are received. There is no option for an international student to pay a portion of the deposit.  A full deposit is required.  (A registration hold is placed on the student record and will only be removed once all required documents are received, the full deposit has been paid and the I-20 is created.)

At LDS Business College, the deposit will be held in escrow with the intent that it will assist the international student to begin school.  An international student who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints may access up to $3,000 of the deposit and an international student who is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint may access up to $5,500 of the deposit to be applied towards his/her fees and tuition.  The remaining $2,000 will be set aside for the international student as an emergency fund and is for purchase of a plane ticket to return to his/her home country.

An international student will not be able to pay the deposit over the phone. Please contact the LDS Business College cashier’s office at (801) 524-8153 for payment options.

There is no option for an international student to pay a portion of the international deposit.  A full deposit is required. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
