An international student who maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and is moving steadily and progressively toward degree completion is considered to be making satisfactory academic progress.
Academic probation is an administrative warning that will not affect an international student’s status. The international student falls out of status if he/she is not progressing toward the completion of the program of study and is suspended for lack of academic progress. The ISO will terminate the international student’s I-20 as soon as notification of the international student’s suspension is received. This is within USCIS rules and regulations.
